I finished making two large cushions (about 65cm square) yesterday, which are going to be used as floor cushions (zabuton).
I wanted to use these beautiful Bangladesh cloth which I bought at an antique market in Kyoto for only a few hundred yen. I like the design and the warmth of these hand embroidered cloth.
Painstakingly, the entire cloth are done with running stitches.
Hardest part was to find fabrics match with these cloth. I couldn't find anything suitable at OP shop, so I bought red upholstery fabric at Spotlight for the back panels, and used thick cream fabric, just arrived from Japan, for corner panels.
They look great in our lounge with lots of Asian ornaments and red colours.
昨日、座布団として使う用の大きなクッション2つ（65センチ四方ぐらいの大きさ）を作り終わりました。
京都の骨董市で数百円で買った、この美しいバングラデュの布を何かに使えないかなと考えていました。この布のデザインと手刺繍の温かみがとても気に入っています。
布一面に刺し子のような刺繍が丹念にほどこされています。
作るにあたり一番大変だったのは、この布にあう布を探すことでした。オプショップにはいいものが見つからなかったので、スポットライト（手芸量販店）で椅子張り用の丈夫そうな赤い布を床面用に買い、四方の布は日本から届いたばかりの厚地のクリーム色の布を使いました。ちなみにクッションの中身は近所のマーケットで中古品を2つ10ドルで買ったものを使っています。
できあがったクッションはアジア各国で買った装飾品と赤のモチーフに囲まれた我が家のリビングにぴったり。
